Kweller Prep Tutor Alexandria

Alexandra is currently a student at Northwestern University, double majoring in Government and American Studies with a minor in Law and Society.

Alexandra graduated from Hunter High School. In her free time, she has worked with many politicians, such as Senate Minority Leader Schumer and New York State Assemblyman Carl Heastie. In addition, she has been a tutor for students in grades 2-8 for more than four years. During her junior year of high school, Alexandra founded Debate4All, a 501(c)3 nonprofit working with eight schools in Bronx District 11 to teach students debate after school. Since its inception, Alexandra has generated over $13,000 in funding and expanded the program to reach over 350 students in the district. In addition, the program has received recognition from the New York State Assembly for its outstanding and transformative work in the community.

Beyond teaching debate, Alexandra has served as a tutor at and CEO of Girls Are Great at Math, a multinational nonprofit teaching students from grades 2-8 math virtually. Through teaching over 100 students during her time on Zoom, Alexandra has learned the art of adapting her teaching to different learning styles and creating effective and engaging lessons. Alexandra’s experience at GGM and Debate4All has honed her tutoring skills for both large groups and one-on-one sessions. She is passionate about connecting with her students through teaching and working to ensure that students have a comprehensive understanding of the subjects being taught. As the former Editor-in-Chief of her school’s newspaper, The Observer, Alexandra has worked with many students to hone their writing skills.

At Hunter, Alexandra took AP BC Calculus, AP Statistics, AP US Government and History, and AP French. In addition, during her high school career, she took courses at CUNY schools, such as Public Administration and Policy and State and Local Government at Hunter College, Intro to American Government at Baruch, and conducted a year-long independent study at Brooklyn College, which received an honorable mention from the New York State Archive Awards.

During her free time, Alexandra enjoys running, spending time with friends, and exploring archival sites.
