ANGELA is attending Yale University and plans to major in urban studies and Economics. She graduated from Stuyvesant High School with a Stuyvesant Advanced Regents Diploma. By the end of her senior year, she had a numerical GPA of 96 or 4.0.
Angela was a National Merit Commended Student and AP Scholar with Distinction. She scored a 1530 on the SAT, with a reading subscore of 780 and a math subscore of 750. At Stuyvesant, Angela took a total of 11 AP classes, including AP Calculus AB, AP Computer Science A, AP English Language and Composition, AP Japanese, AP Macroeconomics, and AP Psychology. Angela also scored a 100 on the NYS English Regents and near-perfect scores on the NYS Algebra II and Chemistry Regents.
At Stuyvesant, Angela was involved with her school’s arts community. Angela sang in the Stuyvesant Women’s Chorus, danced Latin in the annual StuySquad showcases and SING! Competitions, and is looking to learn Hip-Hop in college. Outside of the performing arts, Angela was also part of Stuyvesant’s Cheer and STUNT teams. In her senior year, Angela was chosen as one of the captains of the cheerleading team. Angela was also involved in student government as an events member. Lastly, Angela was a Big Sib who guided incoming freshmen in their transition into high school life.
In the summer of her junior year, Angela participated in a Japanese language and culture study abroad program. Over the span of 4 weeks, she furthered her Japanese studies and expanded her global perspective through interactions with her host family and locals.
Angela is a tutor who prioritizes connecting with her students. She encourages her students to ask questions and believes no student should be left behind. Outside of academics, Angela enjoys playing with her two cats, working out, listening to true crime podcasts, and watching K-dramas.
