Anika is an undergraduate student at New York University Tandon School of Engineering. She is majoring in computer science. This upcoming semester, she will take courses such as Introduction to Engineering, Introduction to Computer Science, Object-Oriented Programming, and Discrete Mathematics.
Anika attended Brooklyn Technical High School and graduated as an AP Scholar with Distinction with an Advanced Regents diploma. Anika achieved a 1550 SAT score with a perfect 800 in math, putting her in the 99th percentile of all students. At Brooklyn Tech, Anika took numerous advanced courses such as AP World History, AP Computer Science Principles, AP US History, AP English Language, AP Calculus BC, AP Computer Science A, and AP Macroeconomics. At Brooklyn Tech, she was also a software engineering major, which allowed her to take special classes in Cybersecurity, Web Development, and IT Infrastructure.
During high school, Anika was very active within her community. She was a part of Brooklyn Tech’s Outreach Club, a student organization dedicated to benefiting the community through group volunteering. Anika was also a member of the MSA, the Muslim Students Association, and the Girls Who Code club. On NYU’s campus, Anika is involved in the Society for Women Engineers and the Girls Who Code club. She is also involved in cultural clubs on campus, such as the MSA and BSA (Bengali Students Association).
Outside of school, Anika completed an internship at Con Edison as a Computer Aide Intern. She worked in the electrical systems analysis group. Anika utilized Excel and Python to perform the analysis’. She also completed multiple Girls Who Code courses, gaining skills in web development and cybersecurity. Anika collaborated with others to produce websites for the Girls Who Code programs. In terms of coding, she is proficient in Python, Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, and Linux.
In her free time, Anika likes to bake and is a very big fan of sitcoms. She also loves to play Dress to Impress on Roblox occasionally with her little sister.
