Anirban is an undergraduate student studying Political Economy at New York University. Anirban is a graduate of Hunter College High School where he attended from 7th-12th grade, and studied history, literature, psychology and other subjects through his elective courses. He has been studying above the high school level since long before graduation, completing dual-enrollment courses at Cornell University and Hunter College in his junior and senior years. He intends to one day attend law school and is currently working at the corporate firm Akin Gump, assisting the Business Development & Marketing team in client outreach and data analysis.
Although Anirban dedicates much of his time to career-oriented pursuits, his primary goals and passions are much more community-facing. He has participated in clubs and activities throughout his high school experience, ranging from political forums and mythology to theater and media. Anirban volunteered the summer after sophomore year in the daycare section of ABC Echo Park, a public school containing programs for economically disadvantaged families with young children. Anirban himself has been a part of the TEAK Fellowship for six years, a program that targets high-achieving but economically disadvantaged students and provides resources to aid them in their future success. He has been in every corner of his community.
Anirban received a score of 5 in AP U.S. Government & Politics and a score of 4 in AP Statistics, along with a 770 for his DSAT Math score and a 760 for his DSAT Reading & Writing score. He has performed well academically within a broad range of high school and college-level coursework, and has been tutoring for his entire life. Whether it be for a professional, organized teaching service or for his little Bengali cousin, Anirban always shows up with the same passion and talent. In his free time, Anirban loves to play video games, watch the newest movies in theaters and catch up on the newest anime.
