Kweller Prep Tutor Bianca

Bianca is an undergraduate student at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience, with a minor in Music Performance. Bianca has completed coursework in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, and Advanced Neuroscience. She is also a research assistant in the Language, Intersensory Perception, and Speech Lab, where she works on projects using eye trackers and EEG methods to study the interactions between visual and audiological senses and their importance in speech perception. She is also a member of the radio station at Amherst, WMUA 91.1, where she co-hosts a show called “Shower Time”.

A graduate of The Bronx High School of Science, Bianca has completed 8 AP classes, scoring a 4 or 5 on exams including, AP Psychology, AP Statistics, AP European History, AP Chemistry, AP Language and Composition, and AP Literature. In high school, Bianca was involved in Public Forum Debate on the Speech and Debate Team. She was also the secretary of the Modern Music Appreciation Club and an intern for the Bronx Science Alumni Foundation. A passionate writer, Bianca was editor-in-chief of The Science Survey, Bronx Science’s online publication. Bianca has been passionate about research since her sophomore year of high school, she has been working with mentors from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Johns Hopkins Center for Music and Medicine on research related to language, language rehabilitation, perception, and music.

Bianca is also a graduate of the Juilliard Preparatory Division, where she got the opportunity to perform alongside well-revered musicians like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Renee Fleming, and Alicia Keys. She was also part of the New York Youth Symphony Chamber Music Program and the pilot New York Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. She has performed on stages at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center and has attended summer music festivals in California, Massachusetts and Maine.

A former student of Kweller Prep herself, Bianca knows firsthand what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the tutoring, and she is passionate about giving back and helping the next generation of students succeed. At Kweller Prep, Bianca tutors students in Algebra 1 and Algebra 2, Biology, and Chemistry, and also prepares students for the SHSAT and SAT. She draws on her own experience and strong academic background to help students master core concepts and approach their exams with confidence.

Bianca is also the co-founder of Harmony 4 All, a non-profit organization dedicated to making music education more accessible for New York City students. Together with her brother, Joshua, they have held concerts and workshops around the five boroughs, served public schools with free instrument donations and repairs, and connected with the community through several outreach events.

In her free time, Bianca enjoys reading books, rock climbing, going to concerts, and spending time with friends, family, and her cat Zane.
