CRISTINA is a student at Harvard University. She plans to concentrate in economics on the pre-law track and pursue a career in public policy. Kweller Prep is proud to share that Cristina prepared for both the Hunter High School Entrance Exam and the SAT Exam at Kweller Prep.
Cristina is a graduate of Hunter College High School. During her time at Hunter High School, Cristina was a four-year member and served as the president of the Hunter student government. Cristina co-captained the Hunter Mock Trial team, leading them to victory in the City Championship in 2023 and 2024 and a State Championship win in 2022. Additionally, Cristina was a 7th-grade Honors Social Studies peer tutor her sophomore year, conducting bi-weekly sessions that helped her students improve test scores from Cs to As.
As part of her extracurricular activities, Cristina volunteered for Remote Buddies, a community service organization where she met weekly with three elementary school children from underprivileged backgrounds over Zoom, helping them develop academic and social skills. Cristina was the news editor of the official Hunter newspaper, What’s What, and the co-editor-in-chief of Hunter’s political magazine, Purple Politico. She was also a senior leader of the varsity cross-country and indoor track teams.
During the summer before her junior year, Cristina worked as a camp counselor with groups of 8 six-year-old campers. During the summer before her senior year, Cristina was an intern coordinator for Nassau County legislator Joshua Lafazan’s government internship program, planning and staffing community service events with over 100 volunteers. During her freshman, sophomore, and junior years, Cristina was in Extended Honors Math, an accelerated math class. As a junior and senior, Cristina took Advanced Placement Courses such as AP Spanish, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP AB Calculus, and Honors Literary Journalism and Honors Physics. She received qualifying scores that would allow her to take more advanced courses during her college semesters. Cristina sat for the SAT after her junior year, receiving an 800/800 in English and a 780/800 in Math. Her SAT composite score of 1580/1600 places her in the 99th percentile nationwide.
After studying at Kweller Prep for both the Hunter test and the SAT, Cristina is proud to work as a tutor and give back to the place that helped her succeed. In her free time, Cristina enjoys baking, watching TV, and going on runs. Cristina is also the proud owner of two guinea pigs and a 14-year-old goldfish!
