Kweller Prep Tutor Dasha

Dasha is currently a 3L student at Fordham Law, looking forward to working in corporate law in one of the largest AM Law Firms in the world after graduation. At Fordham Law, Dasha is on the executive board of the International Law Journal and a Trial Advocacy Competitor. Prior to law school, Dasha was also a paralegal at a Top 10 US firm for two years. She is a veteran tutor who worked with Kweller during her entire time in college.

Dasha graduated magna cum laude from the Macaulay Honors Program at Hunter College in just three years with degrees in Russian Translation and Literature and Political Philosophy. During this time, Dasha worked full-time teaching classes in SHSAT, SSAT/ISEE, Hunter, and the SAT. She is also a graduate of Hunter College High School and has been passionate about teaching students core skills in writing, reading comprehension and math to prepare them for any grade.

Dasha graduated from Macaulay with a double major in Political Philosophy and Russian Studies and Translation. She obtained honors recognition in both her majors. Dasha took an arduous academic path, allowing her to accelerate her studies and graduate with a double major in 3.5 years, not 4.

Dasha graduated from Hunter College High School (HCHS) in 2017. She scored 1580/1600 on her SAT, placing her in the 99th national percentile. Throughout her high school years, Dasha participated in many extracurricular activities and athletic teams at her school. She was the President of 365, a club that provided for children in need internationally, volunteered at the Staten Island University Hospital, and pioneered PSAL Badminton across all of NYC. In the 8th grade, Dasha applied to and was accepted to Staten Island Technical High School and Stuyvesant, yet chose to remain at Hunter.

During her senior year at HCHS, Dasha received an award from PSAL for her contribution to creating a sport in schools across all five boroughs of NYC. She served as captain of her team, assisting in her school’s championship win in 2017. Dasha received full credit on both her Advanced Placement Calculus and Spanish exams (5/5) and had a perfect 800/800 on the Math 2 and Spanish SAT 2 subject tests.

Dasha has a fierce work ethic. She taught at Kweller Prep Manhattan as a Hunter, SHSAT, ELA, Math, ISEE, and SAT class and private tutor every semester throughout college, without breaks, while maintaining her 4.0 GPA. She is among the select cohort of tutors at Kweller Prep who designed course materials, edited syllabi, and helped developed the curriculum as Kweller Prep evolved. Dasha was one of the founding tutors at Kweller Prep Manhattan. Dasha is fluent in Russian and Spanish and has served as a translator between parents and students.

Among her favorite positions as a tutor is as an editor. She greatly enjoys helping students go from beginner to accomplished writers and propelling them to the next level of expertise.

Dasha is one of the stricter teachers at Kweller Prep; she maintains high standards and expects a lot from her students.
