Dawson is an undergraduate student at Boston University, pursuing a joint degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. Dawson was admitted to the College of General Studies, Boston University’s interdisciplinary program, uniquely distinguished by a freshman-year semester abroad in London. So far, he has taken classes such as Discrete Math, Linear Algebra, and Calculus III. Dawson is currently undertaking his Capstone project, a comprehensive, faculty-mentored research endeavor that synthesizes his academic training in collaboration with his peers. In addition to his studies, Dawson is a Dean’s Host for the College of General Studies, where he is a speaker at open house tours and admitted student events. We are also proud to add that Dawson is a former Kweller Prep student!
Dawson first enrolled at Kweller Prep in seventh grade to prepare for the SHSAT. After achieving a score of 586, Dawson gained admission to the highly competitive Stuyvesant High School. At Stuyvesant, he was the senior captain of the Stuyvesant Cross Country and Track & Field teams. Dawson led the team to three New York State Federation Cross Country Championships and a qualification for New Balance Indoor Track Nationals. During his high school career, he achieved personal bests of 4:28 in the mile and 16:41 in the 5K, ranking him consistently among NYC’s best runners. During his four years, Dawson took 10 AP classes and became an AP Scholar with Distinction, earning the following scores: AP Environmental Science (5), AP World History (5), AP U.S. Government & Politics (5), AP English Language & Composition (5), AP English Literature & Composition (5), AP Psychology (5), AP Macroeconomics (4), AP Microeconomics (4), AP Art History (4), and AP Statistics (4). This intense course load allowed Dawson to enter college with 36 course credits. Finally, in his junior year, Dawson scored a 1500 on the SAT after receiving tutoring from Kweller Prep.
Dawson first gained tutoring experience during high school summers as a volunteer for various local SHSAT programs. He is passionate about helping students elevate their learning and continue Kweller Prep’s tradition of excellence. In his free time, Dawson stays active as both a runner and a bodybuilder.
