Douglas

Douglas received his Master’s in Education from Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Mind, Brain, and Education program, where he earned a 4.00 GPA. At Harvard, Douglas took courses in statistics for educational research, cognitive neuroscience, applying cognitive science to learning and teaching, and college student development theory. He is the author of several of Kweller Prep’s SAT, SHSAT, and Hunter High School Entrance Exam course books and published in Inside Higher Ed. He has been tutoring for the SAT and ACT for over ten years.

At Kweller Prep, Douglas is a platinum-level tutor. His workbooks have helped thousands of students at Kweller Prep achieve success. They are also sold on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Douglas has taught dozens of classes and taught over one hundred students privately.

Douglas graduated as Valedictorian from Long Beach High School as an AP Scholar with Distinction and a National Merit Commended Scholar for his excellent PSAT scores. He was the concertmaster of his high school orchestra and chamber orchestras and a member of his school’s National Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society, Key Club, pit orchestra, and string quartet. Douglas took AP courses in high school in European History, United States History, Spanish Language, English Literature, United States Government and Politics, and Calculus A.B.

Douglas also took college-level courses in music theory, genetics, and accounting. He went on to earn a B.A. in government from Georgetown College at Georgetown University, where he was ranked fifth in his class and was summa cum laude. He was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. While at Georgetown, he worked as a research assistant for a government professor and as a research associate intern for a political consulting firm. He also studied abroad for one semester at the University of Sydney. In 2014, Douglas completed a graduate certificate in college counseling through San Diego.

Douglas earned a 99th percentile SAT score as a high school senior and a 336/340 on the GRE. He enjoys developing curricula and has created thousands of pages of course materials. He is honored to be a longtime test developer, mentor, and tutor for Kweller Prep. Currently, Douglas is in the final edits of Kweller Prep’s New Digital SAT Practice book.
