Kweller Prep Tutor Elijah

Elijah is a Master of Arts in Bioethics (MAB) candidate at Emory University’s Laney Graduate School, having completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry at Emory College in May 2024 with distinction. During his undergraduate studies, he contributed to several manuscripts currently in submission to major research journals through his work in a molecular biology laboratory focusing on RSV. Elijah also spent two summers as a biological engineering intern at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, working on antibody engineering platforms to design more efficient and effective therapeutics. In his free time, Elijah volunteered with vulnerable populations around the metro Atlanta area, teaching mindfulness and stress reduction courses to improve interpersonal community relationships. Elijah graduated from Hunter College High School with a 3.9/4.0 GPA and showed strong academic performance on standardized tests, achieving a 35/36 on the ACT and scoring 5/5 on both the AP AB Calculus and AP Statistics exams, along with 4/5 on the AP Biology and AP US History exams. In addition to his academic achievements, Elijah was a dedicated athlete, serving as captain of the Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track teams and earned the prestigious 12-season athlete award. Since then, he has continued his passion for running, completing multiple half-marathons as well as reaching his goal of breaking the 5:00 barrier in the mile at the end of his senior year with a time of 4:46.

Elijah has multiple years of tutoring experience in both group and one-on-one settings, including roles as an instructor for Cambridge Math Circle and as an Ignite Fellow for Teach for America, where he focused on providing math enrichment to underprivileged and underrepresented students. His tutoring expertise extends to AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and standardized test preparation for the ACT and SAT. In his free time, Elijah enjoys physical fitness, playing guitar, and experimenting with new recipes.
