Eric is an undergraduate student at Carnegie Mellon, where he is majoring in Finance with a minor in Political Science.
Eric is a proud graduate of Stuyvesant High School, one of New York City’s most prestigious specialized high schools, where he challenged himself with an extraordinary 12 AP courses. These included AP Biology, AP Psychology, AP U.S. Government, AP Comparative Government, AP World History, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus BC, and AP Chemistry. His dedication and intellectual drive were reflected in his perfect 4.0 GPA and his outstanding SAT score of 1520.
During his time at Stuyvesant, Eric devoted much of his energy to competitive debate, where he distinguished himself by advancing to deep outrounds at numerous national tournaments, including those hosted by Harvard, Yale, and Princeton. Along the way, he also earned coveted top speaker awards at these highly competitive events. Beyond the debate stage, Eric demonstrated his leadership and athleticism as both the Varsity and JV captain of the Stuyvesant Basketball Team. Having played basketball for 15 years, he hopes to continue pursuing his passion for the sport at Binghamton. Eric also gave back to his school community by serving as a Big Sib during his sophomore, junior, and senior years, dedicating his time to volunteering at open houses and homeroom events. In addition, he participated in the National Economics Challenge and served as a co-host at Stuyvesant’s Career Day.
Eric’s keen interest in politics and current affairs led him to intern at the office of Congresswoman Grace Meng (NY-06) in Queens throughout his sophomore, junior, and senior years. At the office, he spent the majority of his time working in constituent services, where he assisted with immigration-related cases. He also took part in numerous community events, including National Night Out and Congresswoman Meng’s annual Graduation Diploma Event.
Eric brings a wealth of tutoring experience across a wide range of subjects, including the SAT, SHSAT, Parliamentary Debate, Public Forum Debate, Model UN, and more. Throughout high school, he worked as a private SHSAT tutor, thoughtfully planning personalized lessons and practice exams for his students. He has also taught multiple forms of debate through both summer camps and private sessions.
In his free time, Eric loves keeping up with the news, listening to music, and grabbing food with his close friends. As an older brother to a little brother of his own, Eric is deeply motivated to help shape the future by tutoring students and forging meaningful connections with the people he meets.
