Fabiha is a PhD student in Computational Biology and Medicine in the Tri-Institutional program at Weill Cornell Medicine, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and The Rockefeller University, where she develops computational methods to predict the antigen binding specificity of T-cell receptors. Before beginning her PhD, she worked as a Researcher at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, building models to prioritize disease-associated genetic variants, link regulatory regions of the genome to functional genes, and analyze single-cell genomic data. Fabiha earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the Fu Foundation School of Engineering at Columbia University with a minor in Applied Mathematics, giving her a strong foundation in mathematics, computer science, biology, and quantitative problem solving.
A graduate of Stuyvesant High School, Fabiha earned a 5 on every Advanced Placement exam she took, including Calculus BC, Computer Science A, English Language and Composition, and Statistics. During her junior and senior years, she served as president of two student organizations focused on teaching and community service. At CSdojo, she ran an afterschool program four days a week where students received individualized instruction spanning introductory programming through AP Computer Science. At Charity à la Mode, she taught and led students in crocheting handmade plushies to raise money for the American Red Cross. Both roles gave her early experience working with students across a wide range of skill levels and building environments where they could learn collaboratively and effectively.
Fabiha brings that same mentoring instinct to her work at Kweller Prep. She scored a 680 on the SHSAT and a 1550 on the SAT, and understands firsthand the strategies and preparation that highly competitive exams demand. As a tutor, she enjoys breaking difficult concepts into manageable steps and helping students build both the skills and the confidence to succeed. Her background in computer science and computational biology lets her tutor across a broad range of subjects, and having navigated the specialized high school, college, and graduate school application processes herself, she has a clear sense of what each stage actually requires.
Outside of academics and research, Fabiha enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her two cats, Jaamu and Malai.
