Kweller Prep Tutor Hana

Hana is currently an undergraduate student at Northwestern University studying Chemistry. She graduated from Hunter College High School with a 4.0 GPA and earned a 1550 on the SAT (790 Math, 760 Evidence-Based Reading & Writing). During high school, Hana completed a rigorous academic program that included AP Chemistry (5/5), AP Spanish (5/5), Medical Physiology, Advanced Essay Writing, and AP Calculus BC.

Since freshman year, Hana has been deeply involved with Scientific Minds of America (SMOA), a national youth-led nonprofit organization, where she served as Chief Communications Officer and led the Young Entrepreneurs initiative. Through this work, she mentored students, organized community projects, and supported school chapters across multiple states, reaching over 160 students in Maryland, New York, California, and New Jersey. She also worked closely with students through long-term tutoring and mentorship, helping tailor instruction to individual learning styles and academic needs.At Hunter, Hana served as Vice President of HOSA–Future Health Professionals, helping coordinate meetings and prepare members for competitions. She was also a co-captain of the Girls Varsity Cross Country and Indoor/Outdoor Track & Field teams, where she fostered teamwork and leadership through practices and team activities. In addition, she co-led Studio 94/Project Crescendo, an afterschool initiative in partnership with Hunter College Elementary School that introduced younger students to songwriting and musical theater, while also helping organize monthly community concerts at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House.
Hana gained experience through several healthcare and civic engagement internships, including positions at an OB/GYN office, Lenox Hill Neurosurgery’s BRAINterns Auxiliary program, and Korean American Civic Empowerment (KACE), where she contributed to voter education initiatives and was nominated as the organization’s 2024 Intern Representative. She also served as an AP Chemistry peer tutor, striving to make challenging concepts more approachable and engaging for fellow students.
Committed to community service, Hana received the Gold President’s Volunteer Service Award twice for her work with SMOA and KACE. She plans to pursue a career in pediatric surgery, with a particular interest in neuroscience and child health. Outside of academics, Hana enjoys running and completed her first half-marathon before her junior year of high school. A dedicated coffee enthusiast, she is passionate about helping students build confidence and excitement in their academic journeys.
