HARITHA

Kweller Prep Tutor Haritha

Haritha is currently an undergraduate student attending Brooklyn College’s Coordinated B.A.-M.D. program with SUNY Downstate Medical School. Haritha is majoring in physics with a double minor in economics and chemistry. Some of the coursework that she will be taking this upcoming semester includes Introduction to U.S. Health System and Policy and Neuroethics.

Haritha attended Herricks High School and graduated as an AP Scholar with an Advanced Regents Diploma. At Herricks, she took numerous advanced classes such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, AP Physics C: Electricity, AP Physics C: Magnetism, AP Macroeconomics, AP Microeconomics, AP BC Calculus, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP World History, AP US Government and Politics, AP Spanish, AP Language, AP Literature, AP Computer Science A. During her time in high school, Haritha participated in research in medicinal chemistry at the New York Institute of Technology and Computational Biology Research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Haritha is active on campus as well. She serves as the Undergraduate Student Government Treasurer, allocating funds for club activities throughout the campus. She is also involved in creating policies on campus, including Brooklyn College’s Interim Events Protocol. Haritha also served as the president of the college’s speech and debate team and as vice president of the B.A.-M.D. Student Committee. During her undergraduate years, she received numerous distinctions and honors, including the Kurrelmeyer Professor Bernhard Memorial Award, which was awarded for her contribution to physics research. Haritha’s research experiences include participating in the Center for Biological Functions, Physics of Life Summer School at Princeton University and being selected as a research intern at the Princeton University Chemistry in Solution and Interfaces (CSI) Summer Internship Program. Her current research focuses on materials science.

Outside of school, Haritha has participated in various study abroad programs, earning the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Cambridge and participate in the CUNY India Study Abroad Program. Her time in the CUNY India Study Abroad Program involved volunteering at Indigenous schools and teaching children about environmental sustainability and research. In her free time, Haritha enjoys trying out new restaurants and loves watching cricket.
