Inika is currently an undergraduate at New York University Tandon School of Engineering, where she is pursuing a major in Computer Science. Some of the coursework that Inika will take in the upcoming semester includes Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Architecture and Organization, and Operating Systems. Inika attended Hunter College High School and graduated as a National Merit Scholar finalist with a 4.0 GPA. In high school, Inika received a 1550 on the SAT and a perfect 36 on the ACT. Inika took many rigorous courses in high school, including AP CS A, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Statistics, AP U.S. Government and Politics, and AP Calculus BC. She scored a 5 on the AP Computer Science A exam.
Inika has been a tutor for South Bronx United and the Share Your Love Foundation. There, she organized and taught lessons for elementary and middle schoolers on math and writing. At Hunter, Inika was a writing mentor at the Writing Center, an AP Computer Science A tutor, and a Big Sib. Inika loves to write, and she wrote and edited for many Hunter publications, including Bits, What’s What, and The Observer. As a newspaper editor, Inika pitched articles, led meetings, and reviewed work. Inika received a Scholastic key for her personal short story and won the New York Society Library’s Young Writers Award.
In her free time, Inika loves to listen to music and dance. One of her fondest memories at Hunter was her role in leading and arranging the South Asian Youth Association’s annual cultural shows. She is excited to work with Kweller Prep students and help them achieve their goals.
