While presenting her research, Kathryn also received an award for Best Presenter of the Behavioral Sciences panel. As a pre-med student, Kathryn has taken and excelled in General Chemistry, Principles of Biology, Organic Chemistry, Calculus, Advanced Statistics, Biochemistry and other courses. Throughout her undergraduate career, Kathryn has also been part of the selective Presidential Honors Scholars program.

Kathryn graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2019 with a 4.0 GPA while taking part in the Big Sib program and maintaining an active role in Stuyvesant’s Theater Community. Kathryn also spent much of her time on the Mock Trial and Moot Court teams at Stuyvesant, earning high awards from each. She credits her years at Stuyvesant High School for shaping and preparing her for the rigor of courses at NYU.

In addition to being fluent in English, Kathryn is also fluent in Spanish and proficient in Romanian. Kathryn is an active member of the Karate club at NYU and enjoys taking their recreational kickboxing and weightlifting classes. Besides academics, Kathryn enjoys teaching karate, playing the piano, and cooking.

Kathryn has experience tutoring elementary courses, Spanish, SHSAT, and SAT. Both Kathryn and her older sister, Antalya, tutor at Kweller Prep. Before that, Kathryn was a student in our SHSAT and SAT programs. Kathryn also attended Kweller Prep for various Regents prep courses while she was a high school student. She knows first-hand what it means to learn and teach tough material. In the dual role of student and tutor, Kathryn is excited to guide motivated students at Kweller Prep while pursuing her education. Kathryn is frequently requested as a class teacher for both new and returning students and thoroughly enjoys her job, which the children can often tell. She has taught classes at Kweller Queens, Manhattan, and via Zoom. She is especially good at teaching on Zoom, taking incredibly colorful class notes, annotating every question she works on, and following up with PDFs and slides of everything she covers in class. We are so happy with how seamlessly Kathryn transitioned from teaching in-person to online during the pandemic. Kathryn has received excellent feedback from the students she has worked with and maintains an outstanding record now that she’s also a Zoom tutor. We are excited to have her as a continued tutor at Kweller Prep as a platinum-level, longtime SHSAT instructor.
