Kweller Prep Tutor Maddie

Maddie is an undergraduate student at Tulane University pursuing a major in Finance and a minor in Spanish. She prepared for the Hunter test at Kweller Prep and is a proud Hunter alum.

During Maddie’s time at Hunter, she served as the President of Hunter Key Club. Maddie was a columnist for Hunter’s student-run newspaper, What’s What, sharing fun anecdotes about Hunter life in a monthly column titled “Maddie’s Musings.” She was a three-season varsity athlete participating in soccer, indoor track, and lacrosse, and was the Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse captain during her senior year. She also played the trumpet in the Junior & Senior Jazz Bands and sang in the Senior Chorus.

During the pandemic, Maddie tutored as part of a nonprofit called Remote Buddies, where she provided weekly virtual tutoring services to underprivileged NYC students. Maddie also spent two summers as an intern in the finance department at In Good Company Hospitality and spent her weekends refereeing and coaching youth soccer and as an assistant coach for her childhood swim team. Maddie was also a Field Biology Intern at Alley Pond Environmental Center.

In her time at Hunter, Maddie took a rigorous course load, including AP Spanish, AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, and AP Economics. In her senior year, she took Honors Physics, Honors Medical Physiology, Honors Toni Morrison, and Honors Bible as Literature. In her junior year, in addition to the AP courses she was taking at Hunter, Maddie also self-studied for the AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and AP U.S. History tests. In both her junior and senior years, she was named an AP Scholar with Distinction. On the SAT, she received a 730/800 in English and a 780/800 in Math, for a composite score of 1510/1600.

In her free time, Maddie loves to be at the beach, play soccer with her younger sister, watch reality TV, and spend time with friends. Maddie is proud to be a Kweller Prep tutor, and she hopes that her students enjoy their time at Kweller as much as she enjoyed hers!
