Kweller Prep Tutor Marc

Marc is an undergraduate student at Rice University majoring in Economics. Marc is a graduate of Hunter College High School. At Hunter, he was a very involved student. Marc participated in ten theatrical productions as a stagehand or actor. Marc also directed two mainstage plays, and produced one. Marc was likewise president of Hunter’s Improv club, where he led weekly meetings and corresponded with school admin in planning annual improv shows. Marc was also Hunter’s speech team captain for two years in a row, elected unanimously in his senior year. Marc captained the team’s members to the program’s first and second ever individual event wins in the NSDA. At Hunter, Marc chose to study Mandarin. In the summer of 2024, he was awarded a scholarship by the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) with a ~25,000 evaluation. This scholarship funded a six-week trip to Taiwan, where Marc studied Mandarin intensively.

During the summer, Marc was a research assistant to a professor at Harvard Business School. There, he researched Soviet patents created during the Cold War in an attempt to discern what kind of patents were still being hidden from public view.

We’re proud to say that Marc attended Kweller Prep’s Hunter Exam preparation program. Marc also got a 1580 on the SAT. Furthermore, he scored a 5 on AP Chinese Language and Culture, and a 5 on AP Statistics. Besides these classes, Marc also took courses such as AP BC Calculus, AP US Government and Politics, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, Honors Shakespeare, and Honors Physics. Marc also scored a 5 on the NEWL Russian Language Examination. In his high school, Marc was also Editor-In Chief of the Grapevine Magazine, and on the Show Production board for the school’s Jewish cultural show.

Outside of school, Marc volunteered at a kitchen which provided food for over 6,000 people daily. He also participated in animal shelter visits under the Humane Society. Marc has lots of experience in exam preparation, whether it be for the Hunter Exam, SAT, or otherwise. Marc is an outgoing, energetic, and determined person. His ultimate goal in life is to try food from every country in the world. In his free time, Marc likes to work out, play board games, and spend time with his friends.
