Kweller Prep Tutor Marissa

Marissa is currently an undergraduate student at Fordham University, where she is majoring in Economics on the pre-law track. She is currently taking courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Statistics, and French.

Marissa is a graduate of The Bronx High School of Science, where she maintained a GPA of 4.0 throughout all four years of high school. She graduated as an AP Scholar with Distinction and with an Advanced Regents Diploma and the Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and English. She took 10 AP classes during her time at Bronx Science, including AP Calculus AB, AP Macroeconomics, AP Chemistry, and AP Spanish Language and Culture, receiving scores of 5 on all but one exam. During her time at Bronx Science, she was also Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Science Survey, and wrote over fifteen articles on topics ranging from medical malpractice to personality testing.

Marissa is a former Kweller Prep student who prepared for both the SAT and the SHSAT at Kweller Prep. She received a score of 553 on the SHSAT, granting her admission to Bronx Science, and a score of 1530 on the SAT. She scored a 790 in the Reading & Writing section of the SAT and a 740 in the Math section. Her experience at Kweller Prep inspired her to become a tutor herself and help the next generation of students achieve new milestones and perform well on standardized exams.

Outside of school, Marissa volunteered as a Digital SAT tutor for Schoolhouse World, where she tutored students in the Reading & Writing section of the exam. Marissa has also participated in numerous Girls Who Code programs and has achieved certificates in Introduction to Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, and HTML. She is fluent in Albanian, proficient in Spanish, and is currently learning French at Fordham.

In her free time, Marissa enjoys reading, listening to music, and exploring the city with her friends. Her favorite place in the city is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where she could spend hours exploring the exhibits and looking at paintings.
