Matt currently attends the University of Chicago, pursuing a double major in Molecular Engineering on the quantum track and Data Science Economics. Currently, Matt is taking advanced courses such as Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences III and Mathematics of Quantum Mechanics.
Matt graduated from the Bronx High School of Science with an unweighted 97.3/100 GPA while taking 13 AP courses and two dual-enrollment classes in higher math. Matt’s course list included AP European History (4), AP Chemistry (4), AP Physics I (5), AP US History (5), AP French (3), AP Computer Science A (5), AP Calculus BC (5), AP English Language (5), AP Physics C; Electricity and Magnetism, AP Physics C; Mechanics, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP English Literature, Multivariable Calculus, Ordinary Differential Equations, and Game Theory. Matt also scored a 576 on the SHSAT, 1490/1520 on the PSAT, and a 1560/1600 on the SAT.
Outside of school, Matt was involved in a multitude of extracurriculars. Matt was head captain of Bronx Science’s Track & Field team, managing a 90+ person roster while qualifying for Nike and New Balance Nationals. Matt is continuing to run for UChicago’s varsity team. Matt also has 350+ volunteering hours from tutoring Ukrainian refugees in the English language, using his Russian proficiency to help accelerate their learning. Matt was involved in research at the CUNY Energy Institute, where he worked as an intern associate with a PhD group. Matt did another internship with a VC fund based in NYC, evaluating their current and potential tech investments.
Matt is also a proficient coder, earning USACO Silver, a finalist position at AtomHacks, and a scholarship granting $3,400 worth of free SANS training via the NCSF Cyber Foundations Academy (CFA), as well as a free attempt at the GFACT certification.
In his free time, Matt builds keyboards and computers. He can also be found on the weekends playing video games with his self-built setup. Matt also loves rock climbing and skiing with his dad and is always prepared for an adventure.
