MICHELLE Z.

Kweller Prep Tutor Michelle Z.

Michelle is an undergraduate student at Georgetown University, where she is pursuing a dual course of study in Neuroscience and Economics while maintaining a perfect 4.0/4.0 GPA. She attended the prestigious Hunter College High School from 7th through 12th grade, and as a former Kweller Prep student herself, she prepared for both the Hunter entrance exam and the SAT—giving her firsthand insight into the very journey her students are now undertaking.

During her time at Hunter, Michelle was deeply and enthusiastically involved across campus life. She served as President of the Asian Cultural Society, Managing Editor of the school newspaper, The Observer, and Treasurer of both the 2026 Term Council and the SciTalk science research club. In addition, she contributed her talents as a Spanish peer tutor, a member of the Science Olympiad team, and a Peer Leader guiding ninth-grade students. Outside of the classroom, Michelle took great pride in serving as captain of the girls’ varsity volleyball team, and she found genuine joy in playing volleyball with her friends. Her passion for the arts also flourished through her role as a violinist in Hunter’s senior strings ensemble. On weekends, she dedicated her time to volunteering around Governors Island as a Student Ambassador for the Trust for Governors Island.

Michelle’s intellectual curiosity extends well beyond the classroom and into the world of cutting-edge research. She is currently conducting research on the role of microglia-neuron communication in neurodegenerative and psychiatric disorders at the renowned Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Simultaneously, she is contributing to an epidemiology project at Hofstra University focused on the global burden of fall-related deaths.

Academically, Michelle challenged herself with a demanding course load throughout high school. She excelled in AP Biology and AP Spanish Language and Culture, earning perfect scores of 5 on both exams. She further distinguished herself in AP BC Calculus, AP Chemistry, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, Honors Physics, Honors Asian American Literature, and Honors Poetry. After completing the Kweller Prep SAT prep course, Michelle achieved a remarkable score of 800 out of 800 on the SAT Reading and Writing section and an impressive 790 out of 800 on the SAT Math section.

With her extensive personal experience, Michelle is exceptionally familiar with the logistics of the Hunter entrance exam, the PSAT, and the SAT. She is not only a gifted teacher but also an empathetic and understanding person who genuinely loves mentoring younger students and supporting them through their academic challenges. In her free time, Michelle enjoys singing and discovering new cookie recipes to bake.
