MO A.

MO A. is a platinum-level expert tutor with 11 years of teaching experience as a private one-on-one tutor and group class instructor for the Hunter High School Entrance Exam. Mo A. currently works at Instagram as a Machine Learning research engineer. Mo is also a founding engineer at a healthcare technology start-up focusing on value-based musculoskeletal care. After graduating from NYU, Mo worked as a Software Engineer at Google. While Mo is extraordinarily well-credentialed in math, he is also a skilled and experienced reading comprehension and Hunter descriptive essay writing instructor at Kweller Prep.

Mo graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science focusing on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI). In graduate school, his coursework included: Fundamental Algorithms, Programming Languages, Operating Systems, Advanced Database Systems, Compiler Construction, Software Engineering, Networks, and Distributed Systems, Introduction to Cryptography, Applied Cryptography, and Network Security, Natural Language Processing, Distributed Computing.

Mo graduated from NYU with 2 Bachelor’s Degrees in 4 years, one as a double major in Math and Electrical Engineering, the other as a double major in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Mo took advanced Differential Geometry, Analytical Geometry, Topology, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Understanding classes. He maintained a 3.9/4.0 GPA throughout his undergraduate career and held a 4.0/4.0 as an NYU graduate student. Mo started his career at NYU at an early age; he took Calculus in 7th grade. Throughout high school, he took undergraduate and graduate-level Math and Computer Science courses at NYU. Entering his first year of undergrad at NYU, Mo A. had already completed over half the coursework required for his majors because of the accelerated coursework he met in high school.

Mo graduated from the Baccalaureate School for Global Education in Queens (BSGE), receiving an IB diploma. He was ranked 11th out of 34,000 students internationally on the IB Math exam. He scored 2200/2400 on the SAT (the breakdown of 800/800 Math, 700/800 Reading, 700/800 Writing), an 800/800 on SAT 2 Math 2, and 800/800 on SAT 2 Physics. He has 11 years of tutoring experience; he had already been a part of NYU Courant’s tutoring program in Math and Computer Science in high school.

Mo often shares that he continues tutoring students at Kweller Prep because he truly wants to make an impact and share his knowledge with the next generation. He has taught Hunter, SHSAT, SAT, and all upper-level math and science courses at Kweller Prep, including AP Calculus AB and BC and AP Physics. When not at Kweller Prep, Mo can be found at the nearby gym. Over the years, he has researched health and fitness and has invested much time researching and developing his mental and physical health.
