NATHAN is an undergraduate student at the University of Chicago. His undergraduate program allows him to double major in economics and biological sciences, which he is currently pursuing. His experience with the topics inside and out of the classroom makes him a strong student, excelling in his classes and extracurriculars.
Nathan attended Hunter College High School from 7th to 12th grade. He was active within the Hunter community, being a member and leader of various clubs and organizations. He was a staff writer of The Lab Notebook, Hunter’s science research publication, Vice President of Pawsitive, a club dedicated to helping shelter pets in New York, and a member of the Science Bowl. He took his passion for science to prestigious places; for one, he studied cnidarian stinging cells at the American Museum of Natural History, working to improve the current species classification system and improve medical treatment worldwide as a student of the Science Research Mentoring Program (SRMP). He also worked with the Lenox Hill Neurosurgery team, helping researchers who lead their field to save patients’ lives while developing his own project at the Clinical Research Immersion program. He works to serve his community as well, being a volunteer at his local West Side Community Garden.
Nathan excels academically, having achieved highly on his standardized tests and advanced classes. He is familiar with standardized material, having scored a perfect 760 on both sections of the PSAT, a 770/800 on SAT Reading and a 780/800 on SAT Math. He is experienced with AP coursework as well, having taken AP Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Physics C: E&M, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP BC Calculus throughout his time at Hunter.
Nathan is not just a strong student and tutor, but also a golfer, pianist, and occasionally a barista. He loves to listen to music and spend time with his dog in his free time.
