Oscar is a current undergraduate at the University of Chicago, planning on majoring in Business Economics with minors in Quantitative Social Analysis and Romance Language Studies. Oscar attended Hunter College High School, one of the most selective schools in New York City, from 7th through 12th grade. While at Hunter, he took on many rigorous courses, including AP Macroeconomics and Microeconomics (5 on both), AP Spanish (4), AP BC Calculus, AP Statistics, and Honors Advanced Essay Writing.
Outside of academics at Hunter, Oscar was the President of Hunter’s Athletic Board, a managing editor for the school newspaper, was elected grade treasurer for four straight years, and was a traveling delegate on Hunter’s Model United Nations team. Oscar was a Captain and Starter on both the Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball teams, the latter of which won the City Championship at Yankee Stadium in 2023.
Oscar sat for the DSAT exams, receiving a 770/800 in English and a 790/800 in Math. With a composite of 1560, his score is in the 99.5th percentile nationwide. Oscar is familiar with all the nuances of the D-SAT and the Hunter test and is experienced working with children in both academic and social contexts. Oscar regularly tutors his younger brother, who attended Kweller for SHSAT Prep and now attends Brooklyn Technical High School.
In his free time, Oscar volunteers for Uptown Hoops NYC, an organization that facilitates basketball skill-building and games for children and adults with different developmental, social, and emotional abilities. He also loves geography, learning languages, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.
