Kweller Prep Tutor Sabeen

Sabeen is a current undergraduate student at Stony Brook University’s Honor College, majoring in Biology and minoring in Health, Medicine, and Society. She has a 3.95/4.00 GPA and has consistently been on the Dean’s List. In her sophomore year, she was presented with the Outstanding Academic Achievement Award by the Division of Student Affairs and the Division of Undergraduate Education.

Sabeen attended the Baccalaureate School for Global Education, where she received the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma. While at BSGE, she took on many rigorous courses, including IB Math Application and Interpretations SL, where she scored a 7, as well as IB Biology SL, IB Spanish SL, IB English Literature HL, IB History of the Americas HL, and IB Visual Arts HL. As part of the IB program, she also completed a Theory of Knowledge course and a 4000-word Extended Essay. Sabeen scored a 1500 on her SAT (780 Math/720 English) and was in the 96th percentile on her SAT.

Outside of academics in high school, Sabeen showed great dedication to volunteering and humanitarian aid. She was president of the UNICEF Club and a Youth Corps Member for Harvard’s Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders, where she frequently met with lawmakers to advocate for protecting kids from dangerously underregulated over-the-counter diet pills and muscle-building supplements.

In college, Sabeen works with Campus Residences, is president of the Society of Dental Scholars, and is heavily involved in research. She is a Research Assistant at the Neuroscience of Emotion, Cognition, and Psychopathology Laboratory and is also completing an independent research project at Stony Brook’s School of Dental Medicine. As a pre-dental student, she has taken many rigorous courses such as Organic Chemistry, Physics, and Biochemistry.

In her free time, Sabeen enjoys embroidery, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
