SAKSHI

Sakshi is currently a pre-med student studying at Boston University with a major in Cellular and Molecular Genetics, and a minor in Computer Science. In her time at BU she has maintained a 3.8/4.0 GPA and has been on the College of Arts and Science’s Deans list each semester. So far her college coursework has included General Chemistry, Statistics, Writing Classes, Python, Ethics, Psychology, Sociology, Physics, Intensive Cell Biology, Intensive Genetics, Java, Organic Chemistry, Anthropology, Asian Religions, and Geometric Algorithms. She is currently taking Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, and Concepts of Programming Languages. She graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 2019 with a 96/100 average. She has also taken the following NYS Regents: Algebra 1, Earth Science, Spanish, English, Geometry, Algebra 2 and Trigonometry, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, World History, and US History, and received an advanced regents diploma in math and science. She has taken several advanced placement classes such as World History, Biology, Physics 1, Calculus BC, Microeconomics, English Language and Composition, and English Literature. She has also taken several post-AP classes such as Genetics and Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. She started college with a total of 24 credits which was over a semester of college credits Sakshi was also involved in the biology research program at Bronx Science where she did research at the Littman Lab at NYU and received the NYCSEF (New York City Science and Engineering Fair) 3RD Award for her work in Cellular and Molecular Biology. She was involved in student government being a class senator, and a member of the judicial board in school. She was also the president of the NASHA of Culture club, and the Captain of the Science Olympiad Team (which she helped coach to become 5th in the city and go to States!) At BU, she is the Vice President of Operations after previously being the events chair and a founding member of Alpha Sigma Kappa (ASK) BU’s first and only Women in STEM Fraternity, the event’s chair for the BU India Club, and an online grader at the Graide Network. She is also currently conducting research on viral proteins in yeast using transcription factors at the Fuxman-Bass Lab at BU, along with being a Course Assistant for the Computer Science Department at BU. She was also the valedictorian at her middle school PS/MS 164. Sakshi and her brother Krish are former Kweller Prep Students who did SHSAT and SAT and went to Bronx Science after studying here. She has dedicated lots of time studying at Kweller Prep and hopes to give back to them by teaching students here that Kweller Prep helped jump-start her future endeavors.
