URI is an undergraduate student enrolled in the 7-year joint degree program with Adelphi University and NYU College of Dentistry. Uri is a biology major on a pre-dental track, who has taken biology, chemistry, genetics, and writing-intensive courses. He is currently holding a 3.96 GPA at Adelphi.
URI scored a 1540 on his SAT – 760 on Reading & Writing, and a 780 on math. He also completed courses such as AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, AP Computer Science A, and AP Spanish & Language; URI was an AP Scholar with Honors.
Uri started tutoring in his freshman and sophomore years of high school, where he helped students in the local area who were struggling with subjects such as algebra and geometry score higher on their tests. With his help, students who were failing tests started scoring B’s and A’s consistently. With this experience, as a rising high school senior, he started helping those who were struggling to score high on the SAT. By knowing the ins and outs of the test, through studying himself, he was able to help each one of his students score in the high 1400s and above.
In high school, URI was the captain of the pre-med club, where he approached it from the angle of raising awareness for dental hygiene, as he set up multiple dental hygiene drives in order to provide supplies for individuals in underserved communities around the five boroughs. After becoming the captain of the Latin American culture club, URI set up the first-ever Spanish newspaper at his high school and acted as the editor during his senior year.
Now, in college, URI is an E-board member for JHealth, one of the largest organizations on campus, where he urges individuals on a pre-health track to join meetings and be involved in club events.
In his free time, URI likes long runs, challenging hikes, and soccer. At Kweller Prep, URI is proud to help students achieve their academic goals and grow in confidence as they grow in understanding of material.
