Kweller Prep Tutor Wilson

Wilson is an undergraduate student at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, studying electrical engineering on the signal processing and electronics track. Wilson was admitted through early decision and was accepted into all nine colleges that he applied to. Wilson is currently enrolled in a rigorous college curriculum, which includes project-based electronics courses and advanced math. Wilson is pursuing a career in infrastructure and power systems and does interdisciplinary work with other clubs at Cooper, such as the physics club and various Vertically Integrated Projects. Wilson is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, where he had a 95/100 unweighted GPA and took various AP courses, including AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics C, and AP Calculus BC.

At Stuyvesant, Wilson was the accompanying pianist for both the Men’s and Oratorio choir, running rehearsals, teaching parts, and completing administrative work. He was also involved in various music clubs, serving as the president of the Stuyvesant Musical Association and co-president of the Stuyvesant Music Outreach League. Wilson was in one of the school’s elite chamber music groups, performing at Carnegie Hall and Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center. He was also an accomplished solo pianist, placing in the top 3 in multiple national and international piano competitions. Apart from this, Wilson was also the captain of the track and field team for four consecutive seasons. He placed first in the shot put at the Boroughs Championships for three seasons and holds the school record for indoor shot put.

Wilson has experience tutoring all levels of students, from elementary school to high school students, SHSAT, and SAT. Wilson also serves as a role model for his piano teacher’s younger students.

When Wilson is not at home studying for an upcoming midterm or final, he enjoys playing basketball at the park or reading The Lord of the Rings.
