Dear Parents and Students,
It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to leave Townsend Harris High School. Never before in my professional career did I have to make such a difficult decision. During my tenure at Townsend Harris, we achieved many great things together. The school continues to be one of the top rated schools in the city, state and the nation. Our Regents and Advanced Placement results in all subjects have been at the top of the city. The school is always near the top in applications for admission and enjoys tremendous support from the entire community. The Queens College grant was recently approved and the successful partnership will continue. We added a number of Advanced Placement courses for our students and thanks to you and our community, we improved our academic program and many of our extra-curricular activities.
A new Interim Acting Principal will be named shortly. Please check the school’s website and your email in the coming days for the announcement of the new Principal.
Students, I will always remember your kindness and the hard work and commitment you continuously demonstrated year after year. Your academic success speaks for itself. Thanks to you, Townsend Harris continues to thrive. The number of academic and extracurricular achievements is too long to list. You are winners of many local, state and national competitions! I enjoyed watching you at sporting events, competitions and celebrations. You made my job fun, challenging, and exciting. Thank you.
Wishing you continued success,
