Kweller Prep Tutor Mo

MO A. graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science with a focus on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI). He graduated from NYU with 2 Bachelor’s Degrees in 4 years; one as a double major in Math and Electrical Engineering, the other as a double major in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. Some of the classes Mo took were in advanced Differential Geometry, Analytical Geometry, Topology, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Understanding. He maintained a 3.9/4.0 GPA throughout his undergraduate career and held a 4.0/4.0 as an NYU graduate student. Mo started his career at NYU at an early age; he took Calculus in 7th grade. All throughout high school, he took undergraduate and graduate-level Math and Computer Science courses at NYU. Entering his Freshman year of undergrad, he had already completed over half the coursework required for his majors. Mo graduated from the Baccalaureate School for Global Education in Queens, receiving the IB diploma. On the IB Math exam, he was ranked 11th out of 34,000 students internationally. He scored a 2200/2400 on the SAT (the breakdown of 800/800 Math, 700/800 Reading, 700/800 Writing), and an 800/800 on SAT 2 Math 2, and 800/800 on SAT 2 Physics. He has 11 years of tutoring experience; in high school, he had already been a part of NYU Courant’s tutoring program in Math and Computer Science. This is Mo’s 7th year at Kweller Prep. After graduating from NYU, Mo worked as a Software Engineer at Google. Mo currently works at Instagram as a Machine Learning research engineer. Mo often shares that he enjoys tutoring students at Kweller Prep. He has taught SHSAT, SAT, and all upper-level math and science courses at Kweller Prep, including AP Calculus AB and BC and AP Physics. When not at Kweller Prep, Mo can be found at the nearby gym. Over the years, he has researched a lot about health and fitness and has invested a lot of time into developing mental and physical health. The creation of his specific class was Mo’s idea and we are excited to have him teach it.

Queens in Person Coding Class Instructor: Redwan

Kweller Prep Tutor Redwan

REDWAN works full-time as a Software Engineer and computer programmer (TCP) at BNY Mellon, a company with $38.6 trillion in assets and with one of the largest data sets in the financial world. Redwan is a full-time coder who creates computer software. At BNY Mellon, he Independently codes and then interfaces with senior-level developers and architects to code, test, and implement application programs. Redwan graduated from New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and dual minors in Mathematics and Cyber Security. His coursework at New York University included classes such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Network Security, Applied Cryptography, Real Analysis, Advanced Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. At NYU, Redwan maintained a 3.5/4.0 GPA, partook in various NYU projects as a research assistant, and acquired the Deep Learning Specialization Certification under Andrew Ng, a leading member of the Artificial & Machine Learning community. While in college, Redwan was a Machine Learning Software Intern for Spheryx Solutions Redwan graduated from the Bronx High School of Science with an Advanced Regents Diploma with AP distinction. His Regents average as 98/100, winning him automatic NYS Regents scholarships. Redwan scored a 2250/2400 on the old version of the SAT, with a perfect 800 in the math section, and a 35/36 ACT score. Red earned a score of 800/800 on several SAT subject tests including Chemistry, Math I, Math II, and Physics. He has also earned a 4/5 and 5/5 on multiple AP examinations including AP Calculus BC (5), AP Physics C: Mechanics (5), AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism (5), AP Chemistry (5), AP US History (4), AP World History (4), and AP Human Geography (4). Outside of the classroom, Redwan was a leading member of the Bronx Science Math Team. As a starter for the team, he participated in many different prestigious mathematics competitions including the American Math Competition (AMC) and AIME/USAMO. He was a part of the Intel Talent Search program (now called Regeneron) with a focus on mathematics and wrote multiple mathematics research papers. Redwan was famously recognized as the teacher of an SHSAT class where his student’s acceptance was recognized in the news and on television. In, particular, Redwan’s student Sebastian Acevedo was one of only 33 Hispanic students to receive an offer to Stuyvesant. Sebastian beat the odds and was featured in the New York Post. The post article, titled, “Teen gets into Stuyvesant after being told ‘it’s practically impossible,'” showcased Redwan’s SHSAT student’s journey from 14% accuracy to 95%. Redwan is also a talented developer, designer, and formatter of numerous Kweller SHSAT and Hunter exams which were later published by Kweller Prep sold on amazon, and used in Kweller’s diagnostic exams given to students in the class. Redwan became a book publisher and SHSAT exam developer before he was even 20 years old! For fun, Redwan enjoys playing basketball, playing videogames, and going on adventures with friends and family. Redwan speaks English and Bengali fluently. He is a child of Bengali immigrants and the first one to attend a top college and work in the engineering field. At Kweller, Redwan helps students reach their maximum potential by teaching them to appreciate the aesthetics of Math and Science, rather than fearing the subjects. He is currently working on improving his Arabic, Spanish, and Korean. Redwan is excited to teach an in-person coding class at Kweller Queens. He wants to share his knowledge and provide a meaningful class during the pandemic.
