KAREEM will begin Harvard University’s Graduate School of Law and Harvard Business School, in pursuit of a JD/MBA dual degree. Kareem graduated from the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science at Columbia University. In college, Kareem served as the president of Columbia’s chapter of the National Society of Black Engineers, helped Columbia administration to organize career fairs, and engaged students in Harlem by teaching a curriculum he created on the topic of Computer Science. Some of his college coursework included: all levels of calculus, differential equations, physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics. Kareem receiving a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering along with a minor in Applied Mathematics and finishing with a 3.7 GPA is just the beginning; he was decorated with a slew of academic and leadership awards, scholarships from Columbia and Fortune 500 companies, and offers for engineering roles at a variety of companies. Kareem chose to start his engineering career at Exxon Mobil in Houston where he held a position as an Integrity Engineer, was decorated with company-internal awards, and ranked in the top percentage of his peers. ExxonMobil, one of the world’s largest publicly traded energy providers and chemical manufacturers, develops and applies next-generation technologies to help safely and responsibly meet the world’s growing needs for energy and high-quality chemical products. Kareem recently transitioned to a project management position at a small firm to broaden his skill-set and take on more responsibility. Kareem graduated from York Specialized High School as an AP Scholar with Distinction. He took many tough classes at York which included: AP Physics (Mechanics and Electricity/Magnetism), AP Chemistry, AP BC Calculus, AP English, and more. Kareem started tutoring students while he was still in high school. Kareem’s love for teaching has not wavered throughout the years. He still makes time to tutor for the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, SHSAT, and STEM classes such as Physics, Chemistry, and Calculus. Kareem is a proud son of Jamaican immigrants. Born and raised in Queens, New York, Kareem is the first in his family to pursue a JD and an MBA. He was the first to attend an Ivy League college as well. His journey to this point has been inspirational. Kareem is also an excellent source of support for his students, helping them navigate the college and graduate school admissions process long after being his pupils. Kareem has exceptionally strong math skills; he scored in the 99th percentile on all three math regents (Algebra, Algebra 2/Trig, and Geometry). We are extremely fortunate that Kareem will be available to teach SAT classes in-person at Kweller Queens during the fall 2020 semester.
