Kweller Prep Tutor Agniva

Agniva is a recent graduate of Northwestern University with a Master’s (MS) in Neurobiology, where he worked on classifying the properties of retinal neurons at an ophthalmology Lab. Prior to Graduate school, Agniva had experience working at Stony Brook’s Cognitive Neuroscience Lab studying models of neurodegeneration. At these labs, Agniva was able to publish Parkinson’s Research on computational models studying the progression of disease in Parkinson’s patients. Agniva graduated from Stony Brook University with a BS in Psychology (with concentrations in Biology and Applied Mathematics). Agniva also has had experience running data analysis on patient records for the Stony Brook Lung Cancer Evaluation Center. While working for the Lung Cancer Center, Agniva was able to publish abstracts studying the relationship between lung cancer progression and tobacco cessation. Agniva has also worked as a Teaching Assistant for upper-level neuroscience classes during his undergraduate career.

Agniva attended The Bronx High School of Science from 9th to 12th grade, where he took AP classes in Biology, Calculus, Literature, Statistics, Psychology and US History. At his high school, Agniva was also part of the speech and debate team, where he competed at varsity Lincoln Douglas for three years and was a quarterfinalist. While participating in such events, Agniva has also worked for the Urban Debate League to coach kids in Parliamentary Debate during the summer.

Agniva excels at teaching the ACT exam, high school regents’ exams, AP exams, and the SHSAT. He scored a 34 on the ACT and received 4s and 5s on all AP exams. Agniva is a longtime friend of Calvin, a former tutor at Kewller Prep, as both attended Bronx Science as high school students. In his free time, Agniva likes to watch German soccer matches and horror movies.
