CATHERINE is an incoming medical student at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, New Jersey’s premier academic health provider. She graduated magna cum laude from New York University’s College of Arts and Science, earning a B.A. in Psychology with Honors, along with minors in Chemistry and Child and Adolescent Mental Studies on the pre-medicine track. She was recognized for her academic excellence with induction into the Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi honor societies and received the Dean’s Award for Community Engagement, one of NYU’s most prestigious honors awarded to just four students. She was also a part of the Presidential Honors Scholars Program, which accepts the top 10% of admitted students, and maintained a spot on the Dean’s List every semester.
During her time in college, Catherine conducted research in neuroscience at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, completing an undergraduate honors thesis supported by four university grants. Her work has been published in journals including Nature. She held roles as a Peer Notetaker, tutor at the University Learning Center, and member of the CAS Student Council. Additionally, Catherine was a member of the varsity swim team at NYU, where she set multiple top-10 records in NYU history, and was elected to participate on the conference team. Catherine has been honored with the title of CSCAA Individual Scholar All-American, the Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award, and as a UAA All-Academic Honoree during her time.
Catherine graduated from Hunter College High School in 2020, where she maintained a 4.0 GPA and received a perfect 36/36 on the ACT, 800/800 on the Math II SAT, and 1500/1520 on the PSAT. In addition, she excelled in AP BC Calculus, AP Computer Science, AP Mandarin, and AP Physics. Catherine was a National Merit Finalist scholarship recipient, and her writing was nominated as a Scholastic Arts and Writing Honorary Mention. As captain of her high school swim team, Catherine became the first female swimmer in school history to win city championship events and qualify for the state championships, consistently placing in the top 10. Her accolades include the USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, PSAL Most Outstanding Rookie, and the Louisa Wingate Underhill Award.
Catherine has a variety of experience tutoring, from regents-level courses, Algebra, to college-level courses such as Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, and Psychology, to swimming lessons. She knows how to deliver content in a variety of methods, and to adjust the teaching style to fit every student’s needs. Catherine is also familiar with the Hunter Test process and understands the difficulties and importance of it. In her spare time, she enjoys weightlifting and trying new foods around NYC.
