Darren is currently attending the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Accounting and minoring in economics. Darren is a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and was initially accepted into Brooklyn Technical High School in his first year. Darren scored a 515 on his SHSAT test and a 559 on his second attempt. At Bronx Science, he undertook a heavy course load with 8 Advanced Placement courses, including AP English Language and Composition, AP United States History, AP Physics 1, AP Psychology, AP Comparative Government and Politics, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Environmental Science, and AP Calculus BC. Darren scored a 790/800 on the SAT math section and 710/800 on the Reading and Grammar section, scoring 1500/1600. Darren had a cumulative unweighted GPA of 96.8/100.
At school, Darren was involved in several extracurricular activities. Darren was a varsity member of the Bronx Science Model UN team, winning best delegate at five conferences he participated in. Darren participated in the Science Olympiad team at his school, where he represented the school in competitions for forensics. Darren also serves as the vice president of the real-world finance club at Bronx Science, where weekly discussions on current financial issues and events are held. During his free time, Darren was the coordinator of Lion Dance for the Lunar Production Club at Bronx Science, who participated in the annual Lunar New Year parade in NYC.
In the summer leading up to his senior year, Darren participated in a competition held by the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, in which he earned an honorable mention in the 3rd round of the Comment to Win Contest. To deepen his understanding of the legal field in which Darren seeks to pursue a career, he attended various classes offered by the Georgetown University Pre-College.
In his free time, Darren enjoys playing the piano, from which he has received a diploma for ABRSM Grade 8 Piano, playing basketball, and learning new languages. At Kweller Prep, Darren hopes to help students achieve their academic goals and succeed in their educational aspirations.
