EDWARD

EDWARD is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, one of New York City’s few elite specialized high schools. Edward will be attending New York University and is planning on majoring in Biochemistry at the College of Arts and Sciences. Edwards’s senior year courses include Multivariate Calculus, AP Psychology, AP Physics C, AP Biology, and AP Microeconomics. Edward has previously taken a total of eight other AP classes in high school, scoring 5/5 on those in the math’s and sciences, including Calculus BC, Environmental Science, Chemistry, and Computer Science. He also achieved a score of 1560 on the SAT, reaching the 99th percentile of all test takers and becoming a finalist for the National Merit Scholarship. Edward is also a part of his school’s Science Olympiad team, obtaining several medals at competitions, including three 1st place medals in Environmental Chemistry, Chemistry Lab, and Forensics at the 2022 New York City South Regionals Competition along with a 2nd place medal in Chemistry Lab and 3rd place medal in Forensics at the 2022 New York State Competition. Edward is also the President of Stuyvesant’s Science Bowl, with his team placing 3rd in the 2022 New York City Regionals Competition. Edward is also a Vice president of Stuyvesant’s Biology Olympiad club, teaching underclassmen material needed to succeed in the USA Biology Olympiad competition as well as becoming a USA Biology Olympiad Semifinalist himself in 2021. To deepen his understanding of the sciences, Edward also attended various classes offered by Columbia University’s Science Honors Program, taking classes in Virology, Biochemistry, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and Organic Chemistry. He also is an active participant in his school’s Environmental Club, assuming a leadership position and dedicating over 160 hours to club activities and volunteering around the city. During his free time, he enjoys exercising, playing the guitar, and self-studying topics that interest him including Japanese and Organic Chemistry.
