Ivy is currently a senior at Hunter College High School. Ivy was accepted Early Decision to Swarthmore College, a top liberal arts college, on a full ride. Ivy plans to study Art History and Art. In Junior year, Ivy took both of the only art APs offered at Hunter, AP Art History and AP Studio, receiving a 4 and a 5 respectively on the AP exams. She is currently taking AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics, Honors Physics, and AP US Government and Politics.
Ivy was awarded for her art on numerous occasions, including receiving two Scholastic keys in 2022, and winning the 15th Annual Competition at the Queen’s Art Education Center. Ivy’s digital art was featured in the 2022 Queen’s Art Education Center Showcase.
Throughout her Hunter career, Ivy has been engaged in the arts. Ivy has volunteered at the National Museum of Mathematics for three years before interning with them under the Integrators program in junior year. Ivy attended the Tech Scholars program at the New York Historical Society and coded a website highlighting representational artist Zoey Frank. Ivy is prominent in the arts scene in her school, with her being the editor-in-chief and president of her school’s Mixed Media Club, which publishes an annual fundraising magazine. She also serves as the President of the Foreign Films Appreciation Club, the managing editor of the school’s newspaper, a member of the DEI Council, and a leading editor/illustrator of the school yearbook. Outside of school, Ivy is an art teacher at the Queens Art Education Center, and works alongside Arthur Liu as she enriches the next generation of artists. Ivy has been chosen to represent her art academy at two ceremonies, at which, four of her pupils have won awards.
In her free time, Ivy enjoys drawing with her favorite mediums: digital, oil, and watercolor. Ivy does art commissions in her free time and enjoys mastering new techniques. She also enjoys reading, thrifting, and socializing.
