JARED

Jared is a rising Junior at Northwestern University pursuing a major in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Computer Science. He graduated from Hunter College High School in 2021 where he took several AP classes, receiving the maximum score of 5 on each of the AP BC Calculus, AP Physics C: Mechanics, AP Computer Science A, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, and AP French Language and Culture exams. Additionally, Jared received a 1580 on his SAT (790 Math, 790 Reading) and a 36 on his ACT, putting him in the 99th percentile of test takers for each exam.

At Hunter, Jared was involved in a plethora of activities, including but not limited to founding and taking the role of president of a problem-solving/design engineering club, participating in math team, and founding and taking the role of vice-president of a local chapter of the national nonprofit organization Linens N Love. After graduating with a 94.8/100 GPA, Jared received The Association of Teachers of Mathematics of New York City Certificate and Harry D. Ruderman Book Awards for excellence in mathematics and for stimulating interest in and enthusiasm for the study of mathematics and had also been recognized as a silver medalist in Le Grand Concours, a national French competition, in each of the years 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Most recently at Northwestern, Jared joined the Baja Society of Automotive Engineers, where the school’s team designs and builds a top-ranking off-road vehicle each year to race in an end-of-year national competition. In his time at the club, he has taken charge of a number of projects, such as creating a new database to store testing data and designing the car’s footplate and housing for a custom differential gearbox. In doing so, he has worked his way up to becoming the team’s Powertrain Lead Designer in just his third year. He currently holds a GPA of 3.9/4.0 and has received academic Honors during each quarter of enrollment.

Jared has had years of experience tutoring students of all ages in subjects such as math, reading, writing, grammar, and physics. He has worked both in group settings and privately with his students and has excelled in both areas. In his free time, Jared loves to watch and play sports with friends, build and fix cars with his teammates, and play board games with friends and family.
