Kweller Prep Tutor Jayati

Jayati currently attends the Yalow Scholars Program at Hunter College. Jayati is majoring in Biology and is on the Pre-med track with a 3.94 GPA. At Hunter, Jayati took Biology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physics, Molecular Genetics, and Cell Biology. Jayati graduated from Stuyvesant High School in 2020, and there she took AP Biology, AP Calculus AB, AP Psychology, AP Government, and AP English Literature. Jayati achieved an SAT score of 1450, with a 770/800 in the math section. At Stuyvesant, she was part of the research club, learning and implementing scientific procedures like ELISA and Western blots. Jayati also volunteered over 250 hours for the Red Cross and the Key Club.

Outside of school, Jayati interns at a cancer research lab at Weill Cornell Medicine. There, she investigates therapeutics targeting the KRAS G12D mutation. Jayati presented her research at conferences and was named an awardee at the 2022 Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists. Jayati is also involved in her college’s science center, where she provides tutoring services to students struggling with Biology courses. Jayati volunteered over 300 hours at the New York Blood Center, monitoring blood donors after their donation and educating communities on the various types of blood donation. Jayati also hosted talks, inviting blood transfusion recipients during her time as the Chair for Hospital Affairs At Hunter’s Blood Initiative club to educate the Hunter community on the benefits of blood donation. Jayati has had various academic achievements, including being a part of the Dean’s List at Hunter since Spring 2022.

During her free time, Jayati enjoys experimenting with recipes and exploring the city with friends.
