Kweller Prep Tutor John

John currently attends Columbia University where he is pursuing a major in Neuroscience and Brain Behavior. He graduated Hunter College High School (HCHS) in 2021. John took several AP classes, and received a 5 on the AP Government exam as well as 4 on the AP Biology and AP Calculus exams. John received a 1540 on his SAT (780 Math, 760 Reading) and a 770 on his Biology SAT subject test which he took in his freshman year. John was also a National Merit Scholarship Finalist with a PSAT score of 1480. John took summer classes through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program and took weekend classes through Columbia University’s Science Honors Program during his junior and senior years. At Hunter, John was a three-season athlete (Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Lacrosse) and was captain of the Lacrosse team. John was also on Hunter’s Model UN team and was Co-President of Hunter’s volunteer tutoring club, “Teens Teach.” In the summer of 2019, John worked with the Bronx Zoo to study water pollution in the Bronx River through their high school research program, “Project TRUE.” John was also a member of the New York City Children’s Chorus for several years, where he had the opportunity to sing on Good Morning America and Saturday Night Live. Outside of school, John can be found enjoying his free time at the gym or playing his guitar.
