Kweller Prep Tutor Kristina

Kristina is a graduate student at Hunter College pursuing TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certification. Kristina graduated with a 3.8 GPA from SUNY New Paltz’s Honors Program on a full scholarship, where she studied Adolescence Education in English. At New Paltz, Kristina took classes such as Adolescent Development, Creative Writing, French Compositional Literature, Foundations of Secondary Education, and multiple sections of student teaching semesters. Kristina has her NYS Certification to teach ELA for grades 7-12. In Kristina’s undergraduate studies, she double-minored in French and Creative Writing. Kristina composed and presented a thesis of original poetry and prose through the Honors Program. Kristina worked as a Writing Consultant at the Center for Student Success at SUNY New Paltz, working with undergraduate and graduate students. She is a certified College Learning and Reading Association tutor. Kristina was previously a center administrator and ELA tutor at another tutoring center. There, Kristina administered and evaluated SAT diagnostics, created lesson plans for various programs, engaged in SHSAT preparatory sessions, and conducted Reading and Writing tutoring sessions with students ages 5-18. During her graduate studies, Kristina teaches ESL to adult learners through Hunter’s SPELL program. During her free time, Kristina enjoys studying new languages, visiting museums, self-teaching cultural instruments, and trying out new restaurants.
