Kweller Prep Tutor Mahz

Mahz is currently an undergraduate student at New York University Tandon School of Engineering. Mahz is a Biomolecular Science major and plans on minoring in Genetics. Her coursework in the upcoming fall semester includes Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology, Expository Writing, General Chemistry, and Calculus I.

Mahz attended The Bronx High School of Science and graduated as an AP Scholar with Distinction and a recognized National Honors Society member. She achieved a 1500 SAT score with a cumulative GPA of 96.0. At Bronx Science, Mahz took several rigorous courses and electives, such as AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP US History, AP World History, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature, AP Physics I, AP Calculus AB, and Post-AP Genetics.

In addition to academics, Mahz spent her time in various extracurricular activities. Mahz was the Head of the Electronics Department on her school’s All-Girl FRC Robotics Teams. She led her members in designing electronics systems to compete in regional and national FIRST Robotics Competitions. Mahz served as STEM Curriculum leader for a non-profit organization called REACH, where she created and taught STEM lessons for underrepresented elementary students in the Bronx. Mahz was also the President of NASHA of Culture Club helping to foster a more inclusive school community. Following the Pre-Dental track, she spent her time shadowing in dental offices and participated in NYU College of Dentistry’s Saturday Academy Program practicing common dental procedures. Mahz also volunteered in Flushing Hospital’s Dental Wing and completed a genetics research internship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

In her free time, she is an avid TV-show binger and loves to cook different recipes from around the world! Mahz also enjoys to sing, crochet and play ukulele.
