Michael is currently a student at Syracuse University on the pre-medical track and majoring in chemical engineering. Michael’s current coursework includes chemistry, computer science, physics, and advanced calculus, as well as elective courses such as history and literature. He currently has a 3.7/4.0 GPA. Michael graduated from Stuyvesant High School as an AP Scholar with Distinction. He achieved a 1570 SAT score, putting him in the 99th percentile of all test takers. Michael took several rigorous courses in high school, including Organic Chemistry, AP Biology, AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, and AP Calculus BC, scoring a 5/5 on these AP exams. Michael also self-studied for AP Physics 1 during remote learning, and for AP Physics C: Mechanics as a senior. In addition to his schoolwork, Michael used COVID as an opportunity to take online courses on human anatomy and oncology. While in high school, he was a part of Speech and Debate, and a starting player on Stuyvesant’s lacrosse team. Michael is fluent in Polish and took German for 3 years in high school. He is also involved in conservation work and research. In 2021, Michael studied Bison populations in Yellowstone, contributing data to the Bison Conservation and Transfer Program. Later that year, he went on to work with NOAA CREST and wrote a paper on statistical methods to better study the urban heat island effect in New York. In his free time, Michael enjoys reading and running cross country. Both of Michael’s sisters attended Kweller Prep to prepare for their SHSAT exams and hope to follow in Michael’s footsteps and work at Kweller Prep soon.
