Kweller Prep Tutor Olivia

Olivia currently attends Yale University where she is majoring in Neuroscience, on the pre-med track. Olivia graduated from Hunter College High School. At Hunter, she maintained a 4.0 GPA. Olivia scored 1570 on the SAT and 1500 on the PSAT, becoming a National Merit Finalist.

In high school, Olivia was the captain of the Science Olympiad team, leading the team to multiple first-place regional championships. Olivia was also the captain of the Varsity Volleyball team and has been a starter since she was one of the few sophomores to get on the team, and has been voted tournament All-Star at competitions. The volleyball team has been undefeated all three years during its general season. Olivia was also a writing center mentor and Big Sib for younger students at the school. Her coursework has included AP Chemistry (5), AP Biology, AP Microeconomics, AP Macroeconomics, AP Calculus BC, and Medical Physiology.

Outside of school, Olivia has worked at Sinai Biodesign–a biomedical engineering lab at Mount Sinai Hospital with a primary focus on Neurosurgery–since her sophomore year. She worked to develop a ventricular brain model used to demonstrate and test multiple novel surgical devices. Olivia was the Chief Executive Officer of Scientific Minds of America, a nonprofit with over 1,200 students, aiming to improve educational inequity through free classes and tutoring. For this work, she was awarded the Gold Presidential Service Award. Olivia was also a part of the Columbia University Science Honors Program, a selective program that teaches high school students about various scientific disciplines, where she took courses in Python, Bioengineering, and Physiology.

Olivia was a Kweller Prep student preparing for the Hunter Exam and aims to help other students earn these same opportunities. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, and hanging out with her friends.
