Roza is a Platinum-level tutor at Kweller Prep and a graduate of the Macaulay Honors College at Hunter College, where she earned her degree Magna Cum Laude. She currently works as a research associate in private-sector research, collaborating with one of the top laboratories in New York City, and is pursuing a JD with the goal of transforming the promise of human rights into an equitable reality for marginalized communities.
At Macaulay, Roza majored in Biology with a specialization in Biotechnology and minored in Film Studies. As part of the Macaulay Honors Program, she received a full academic scholarship for all four years, complimentary residential housing, a MacBook Air, and an opportunity fund that supported study-abroad programs and paid internships across New York City. She was also an active member of the Macaulay STEM Society.
Roza graduated from The Brooklyn Latin School, a specialized high school, where she earned the International Baccalaureate Diploma along with an Advanced Regents Diploma. She completed Higher Level coursework in Biology, Math, and English, and Standard Level coursework in Latin, American and European History, and Visual Art and Art History, all while maintaining a 3.9/4.0 GPA. Roza was inducted into Brooklyn Latin’s honor society in recognition of her academic record, character, leadership, and service, and she competed on both the debate team and the cheerleading squad. As a writer and editor for the Latineer, her school newspaper, she had numerous pieces published. Outside of school, she volunteered at Queens Hospital Center throughout all four years of high school and shadowed doctors during a hospital internship the summer between her freshman and sophomore years.
Roza knows the Kweller Prep experience from both sides of the table. After immigrating to the United States, she took the SHSAT in the 9th grade and scored high enough for Stuyvesant, but was too nervous to list it as her top choice — she chose Brooklyn Latin instead and is glad she graduated with an IB diploma from there. She was a Kweller Prep student through much of 11th and 12th grade, taking SAT and Regents prep classes with us and earning a 1500/1600 SAT superscore. She has also worked remotely with a publishing firm as a writing contributor.
At Kweller Prep, Roza works with students preparing for the SAT, SHSAT, and Regents exams, as well as Biology and writing — drawing on her own specialized high school, IB, and Macaulay Honors experience to help students build strong strategies and reach their goals. She especially enjoys working with high school–age students and is a fun, friendly, patient, and lighthearted teacher.
Roza is fluent in Bengali. For fun, she enjoys watching movies and learning about film production, with a particular interest in classic German cinema and the films of Alfred Hitchcock.
