Kweller Prep Tutor Samin

Samin is an undergraduate student at New York University Tandon School of Engineering and is double majoring in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. Samin is interested in machine learning research and financial trading to create stronger economies and societies. Samin is a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, where he had a 4.0 GPA while taking 10 AP classes from Calculus BC to Statistics. Other notable coursework Samin has taken includes Cybersecurity, Advanced CAD, and Systems programming. While in High School, Samin took the SAT and ACT achieving a 1580 and 36, respectively.

At Stuyvesant High School, Samin co-founded a club called Omnicode to teach other students computer science and programming. Through weekly lessons, he aimed to inspire others to pursue the career field and build their technical skills. Samin has also completed research at NYU and CUNY, studying convolutional neural networks and tumor suppressors during his summers. Samin’s passion for research extends into the Research Club at Stuyvesant, where he wrote 15+ articles surrounding recent scientific news while also serving as a podcast member. Samin was also an active volunteer, working at his school’s Key Club, Red Cross and at his local elderly rehabilitation center. Outside of academics, Samin enjoys playing basketball (although he isn’t good), watching movies, and taking long walks with his friends and family.
