Shahriyar is currently an undergraduate student attending NYU Tandon. Shahriyar is planning to major in Computer Engineering. Shahriyar attended Stuyvesant High School and graduated with a Stuyvesant Advanced Regents Diploma. Shahriyar achieved a 1540 SAT score, putting him in the 99th percentile of all test takers for the exam. While at Stuyvesant, Shahriyar took many rigorous courses, including AP Calculus AB, AP Macro, AP Micro, and AP US History.
Outside of academics, Shahriyar was a managing board member of the Stuyvesant Muslim Student Association. In his time with the club, Shahriyar helped lead Stuyvesant’s team of around 50 competitors to win first overall at the MIST New York 2023 competition. Additionally, Shahriyar was a member of the Stuyvesant Spartans, a varsity wrestling team. Shahriyar participated in many wrestling tournaments and ended his 2023 season with a record of 2-0, as well as placing second as a team in the Borough Championships. Moreover, Shahriyar founded a non-profit organization called Shahmud’s Tutorial which catered toward tutoring the youth in their academics. Shahriyar was also a managing board member for StuyBolly. Shahriyar helped organize regular rehearsals, performed at various productions throughout the school year, and created choreography.
In his free time, Shahriyar loves to play many different sports, such as basketball and soccer. Shahriyar also loves to play video games and watch movies.
