Kweller Prep Tutor Tara

TARA is currently a student at Boston University, pursuing a major in Biology. Tara graduated from Stuyvesant High School, one of New York City’s top specialized high schools. She had a cumulative GPA of over 93%. During her time at Stuyvesant, Tara took AP Environmental Science, AP Biology, AP Statistics, AP US History, AP World, AP Government, and Molecular Science, receiving 4s and 5s on her AP exams. Tara’s high Advanced Placement scores have allowed her to obtain an entire semester’s worth of college credits, placing her ahead of her peers who are also pursuing a Biology major. She is on the track to graduating early from Boston University. Tara scored 1500/1600 on her SAT and a 1430/1520 on her PSAT, placing her in the 97th percentile and the 99th percentile, respectively. Tara also received the honors of National Merit Finalist and the AP Scholar with Distinction.

While at Stuyvesant High School, Tara was selected to be published in the New York Times Coming of Age Book for her artwork inspired by COVID-19. She has dedicated time volunteering as a VISIONS leader, helping the blind and visually impaired. At Stuyvesant High School, Tara has worked as the Vice President of StuyPrep, providing free SHSAT tutoring to hundreds of economically disadvantaged students across New York City. She was a Doubles Tennis Player for her school’s varsity team. Tara spent her summers interning at Mount Sinai Hospital, shadowing a neurologist, giving presentations on epilepsy, and attending clinicals and surgeries. In her free time, Tara enjoys playing tennis, baking and photography. As a former student from Kweller Prep, Tara hopes to continue helping students achieve their academic goals and ambitions.
