Kweller Prep Tutor Michelle

Michelle is currently a student at the University of Chicago, planning to major in Economics with a potential Chemistry or Art History minor. She is interested in a career in finance and law.

Michelle is a graduate of Hunter College High School. Michelle had leadership roles in clubs such as Feminist Future, Hunter Art History Association, and Females in Finance during her time at Hunter. In her junior and senior years, Michelle was a sports and opinions editor, respectively, on her school’s student newspaper. She also participated in cross country and track throughout high school and contributed to her grade’s student council, planning events, including prom and bake sales.

Michelle was in Extended Honors math from eighth to eleventh grade. Michelle took classes such as AP Chemistry (5), AP Microeconomics (5), AP Macroeconomics (5), AP Statistics, AP United States Government and Politics, and AP Calculus BC. Michelle also took Literary Journalism and The Bible as Literature in her senior year. Michelle took the SAT the summer before her junior year and scored a composite score of 1580 (780 English, 800 Math).

Michelle loves to spend her free time volunteering, especially at DOROT, an organization dedicated to preventing social isolation among older adults in the city through weekly home visits. She has been involved as a peer tutor within Hunter, assisting younger students struggling with mathematics.

In her free time, Michelle loves to play piano, hang out with friends, watch movies, solve crosswords, and run.
